Meeste Oscarnominaties voor Oppenheimer (13)

Oppenheimer van Christopher Nolan, in december nog verkozen tot VPRO Cinema's Film van het Jaar, werd onder meer genomineerd in de categorieën beste film, beste regie, beste scenario en beste mannelijke hoofdrol (Cillian Murphy). Ook de Nederlandse cameraman van de film, Hoyte van Hoytema, ontving een nominatie. Oppenheimer is momenteel in Nederland te huur op verschillende streamingdiensten, waaronder Pathé Thuis en Prime Video.

Andere grote kanshebbers zijn Poor Things (11 nominaties, vanaf 8 februari in de bioscoop), Killers of the Flower Moon (10 nominaties), Barbie (8 nominaties) en Maestro (7 nominaties).

Opvallend waren de vijf nominaties voor Gouden Palm-winnaar Anatomy of a Fall, onder meer voor beste film, beste regie en beste vrouwelijke hoofdrol (Sandra Hüller). De film van Justine Triet werd ironisch genoeg door Frankrijk niet ingezonden voor de categorie beste internationale film; in plaats daarvan kozen de Fransen voor Le pot-au-feu, dat wel de shortlist haalde maar uiteindelijk geen nominatie kreeg.

De meeste genomineerde films hebben in Nederland in de bioscoop gedraaid of komen binnenkort uit, met uitzondering van het voor vijf Oscars genomineerde American Fiction (o.a. beste film), dat nog geen Nederlandse releasedatum heeft.

De 96ste Academy Awards worden op zondag 10 maart uitgereikt (onderaan deze pagina staat hoe je in Nederland de uitreiking kunt bekijken).
